Description and lore

Pinning Throw

A pinning throw might make a loose sleeve or trailing strap the hinge of a confrontation.

Lore and observations

The nearby surface is as much a part of the picture as the weapon.

The pinned combatant jerks against the caught fabric as the loose sleeve pulls taut.

Rules and details

Requires

Requires: a compatible Thrown weapon.

Use

Use: On a Hit beside a suitable pinning surface · Struck target · 1 Stamina

Effect

Effect: On a Hit beside a surface the Thrown weapon can reasonably pin clothing, gear or a limb against, you may exchange damage for Restrained movement. The target or a reachable helper can spend an Action removing the weapon. If its placement makes removal uncertain, use Force, Labor or Crafting against the assigned attacking Affinity's die maximum under Player Book. Tools or an accessible loose anchor may require no roll. Removing or destroying the anchor ends the pin. No second Contest on application.

At the table

The weapon thunks into timber, catching a fold of cloth against it.
