Description and lore

Brace

A steady palm lends its resolve to a slipping rope or trembling door.

Lore and observations

Brace is the spell of the last pair of hands: the companion who stays behind while everyone else crosses.

Its quiet drama lies in the caster's posture, with feet planted and fingers refusing to open.

Use

Use: Action · Touch; one object · Persistent · 0 Mana

Effect

Effect: While touching an object, hold it against displacement, such as a slipping rope, unstable ladder or opening door. Initial hostile pressure uses Ward + Spirit versus the appropriate opposing Skill + Affinity. Once that hold is established, forcing the same hold uses an Action and an appropriate Skill Test against the casting Spirit die maximum under Player Book; no repeat opposing roll. Unopposed or static pressure uses a normal Test only when uncertain. Continued attention and contact are required; normal persistent upkeep applies on each later turn. Release, lost contact or ended persistence ends the hold. It provides no damage buffer or structural Durability and does not automatically complete construction.
