Description and lore

Appraise

Material, wear, and workmanship become the center of a diviner's attention.

Lore and observations

An appraiser studies a polished surface and the less flattering marks beneath it: a repaired join, worn clasp, or uneven edge.

The spell's appeal is to careful buyers who would rather understand an object than admire its sales pitch.
