Description and lore

Reinforced Component

Braces, fitted plates or supporting masonry strengthen a particular weak point.

Lore and observations

Reinforcement begins with understanding how a component fails. A well-fitted support follows the shape of the weakness its builder has identified.

The finished work remains part of the original structure: a braced hinge, a strengthened panel or a supported beam. Its location tells an observer what the builder feared.

Rules and details

Description

A brace or fitted facing protects the part most likely to fail.

Requires

Requires: One recoverable component and a suitable permanent material or support design.

Construction

Construction: Small Common craft; 3 resources (30g); 1 Workday(s), or 55g expected installed/purchased value.

Effect

Effect: Choose one benefit on completion: increase that component’s Durability one die step, maximum d12, or increase its Integrity by 1. Each benefit can normally be applied once to that component; two distinct installations may supply one of each. No increase in stored contents, occupant capacity or attack dice. Repair restores its damage marks without removing an intact upgrade; destruction requires rebuilding the component and its upgrades. Temporary threat-specific bracing remains a separate Player Book procedure.
