Description and lore
A mirage opal is set into an examination lens or a small investigative charm.
Shifting color within the gem draws an observer back for a second examination. Its plain mount leaves the polished surface readily accessible.
The examiner places one object on the cleared bench and brings the mounted opal close. Notes and a steady light complete the working arrangement.
