Prepare the scene

The spilled coins seem to move. Tiny shining bodies stream around them, carrying bright flecks toward a crack in the floor.

A colony of shimmering ants gathers exposed gold in a coordinated flow. Bright bodies converge around scattered coins and carry glittering flecks toward the nest.

Establish the surroundings, each participant’s position, and what the party can perceive before resolving the encounter. Use the current core rules for surprise and turn order when combat begins.
